Billishirts was founded March 3rd, 2009.  I got the idea when I was helping my girlfriend try to find a way to sell t-shirts.  She is a Manga/Anime artist.  Before then I didn't know anything about Cafepress or Zazzle or any other PODS (print on demand)

A POD is a company that allows you to put your designs on apparel and merchandise by uploading them images or graphics and you keep a certain amount of commission when your item is sold.  Currently I use Cafepress, Printfection and Zazzle.

I have enjoyed early success with Cafepress.  Since starting the shop in March, I have sold many designs already, and don't have any returns to date (knock on wood!).

I like to think of new ideas and like the idea of having them printed on T shirts.  I have learned a lot about marketing - including search engine optimisation, and more about Photoshop than I ever thought I would have to know!  This is thanks to my very patient girlfriend, who has taught me many of her tricks.  She is a Photoshop pro! One day I will have her teach me how to use Corel Painter which she is also adept with...

All my designs are original ideas, some of them I get inspiration from my girlfriend and my kids (2 cats and 1 dog!) So far, I have received nothing but positive feedback and I'm really having a great time learning and designing new things! I have a full time job and do this as a hobby.  Of course it would be a dream to one day have this as my primary income, but I'm not holding my breath!

I try to design in such a way that I'm thinking like you, the customer.  What would I like to see on a shirt? what is cool, original or fun? That's where I got the idea for Cool Designs for Creative Minds! Of course, feedback is always welcomed and encouraged.  It is thorough you that will help make this shop a success!
